Eating right in the corporate world
This blog has been dying on the vine as I dove in to a new job in the corporate world. My mind never strays too far from making observations about nutrition however. With my new co-workers I am always chiming in about a better option for whatever they happen to be eating or drinking. So therefore this blog might take a new focus about staying healthy in a hectic traveling, calendar filled life.
It’s already been an amazing lesson on practicing what I preach. For years my clients with full time jobs and families have come to me for advice on getting healthy. I would get so frustrated when they would tell me, “You don’t understand I HAVE to drink at a client dinner.” or “It’s tough to plan ahead for airport travel.” “I don’t have time to workout when work gets busy.” While these things can still be worked around I find myself falling into these traps too.
Last week I was at a trade show for a facility management group. It was a beautful show and they had wine and food available for the guests. I decided to grab a little a little taste and was shocked by what was offered. Obviously some good money was spent on this spread and aside from some pickled anti-pasta there wasn’t a vegetable in site. Look at this video and tell me what you would choose to create a hormonally balanced meal. Can you find it?

Wow, no color in that buffet. So, you had water and a protein bar you carried with you?
Haha good idea Annette! I actually had some of the tri-tip and anti-pasta veggies. That was as close as I could come to a hormonally balanced meal.
